I recently photographed this little bundle of energy, along with his mum and dad, who must have tons of energy in order to to keep up with him!
It was a really fun session with lots of giggles and chasing, and some lovely sunshiney weather at a great local park.
I’m so pleased to be able to capture images of that wonderful family connection, especially for these guys, as one side of his extended family are all the way over the other side of the world. Luckily, they can have his smiley face up on their wall to keep them going in between skype catch-ups!
…and three times the energy!
I’ve photographed this family three times now, and they are so much fun. These kids have lots of energy. Like, lots and lots. It’s always a great session with plenty of giggles and tickles, and crazy faces from Dad to get them laughing (thanks Dad!). I think you can tell from the photos just what a happy family they are.
We had the session in their beautiful, light-filled home, which is great to get everyone relaxed and comfortable, but also adds meaning to the photos since a home is filled with so many special memories of growing up.
I spend a fair bit of time with this lovely mum and her little boy Angus. Her son, and my son Jasper, play together most afternoons. They share blueberries, sometimes share toys, and Jasper recently shared a gastro bug with Angus.
Then Angus shared it with his dad.
On the very day Angus’s little sister came into the world.
(So, so sorry again guys. I’m sure Angus will share some germs with Jasper soon, but I can’t imagine it would be more inconvenient than what went down last week!)
Thankfully, little June arrived safe and sound, and her mum (and dad) made it through the day.
She’s now settling into her new little family, getting some loving cuddles from an adoring big brother.
Love these guys. I’ve known them for ten years, give or take, and have watched two of the kids grow up into just-about-adults, and the arrival of the littlest, who has certainly inherited his parent’s love of high-energy adventures!
It was a great time to do this session – one of these ‘kids’ has just graduated from high school, so it’s a really nice idea to get the family together for a session before they start leaving the nest and head out into the world.
The location was a place I hadn’t taken photos at before, and it was a nice discovery with a bit of an industrial feel, and it’s always a fun challenge to work in a new location!
This was a day filled with so much sunshine, love, smiles and laughter.
Trish & Matt are a lovely couple who have some of the loveliest friends & family you could ever hope to meet. You could tell from the guest’s beaming smiles during the ceremony, and the heartfelt speeches at the reception, just how loved they are, and how pleased their loved ones were that they had found each other, and fallen in love.
We had such a relaxing day taking the bridal party photos around the beautiful grounds of the University of Queensland, and then drove the short distance to Hillstone, St Lucia for the reception. I love Trish’s dress by the way – the length, the design…just gorgeous!

There is a great place not far from me that has a nice variety of areas to photograph people in. One area involves jumping a fence and dodging the cow pats, but it’s so worth it for the golden grass on a sunny morning.
I’m so glad this family agreed to meet me so early on a chilly Sunday morning – I’m really pleased with the images we created…and I’m also pleased we didn’t get arrested for jumping the fence, or (accidentally!) setting off the alarm in the nearby building. The life of a photographer is filled with adventures!
